I'm gonna be shooting a .54cal. Great Plains Rifle in a hawg hunt this weekend. I know 'ol porky won't come to me so I'm gonna have to reach out and touch him.
I'm asking what any of you folks use for a accurate load in a .54cal. 32" barrel with a 1 in 66" twist? I use a .530" ball with pre lubed patch of .015".

I had a feller on another forum say he uses 90gr. of 3F!!!!!!
I'm afraid that would take the barrel right out of the bed!!! Or take me out, one or the other!

I was thinking more along the lines of 80-100gr. of 2F.
Anybody have any answers?

Haveing the 1 in 66 twist barrel // you need to stay with round ball and patch .. in my 54 cal . i have the 1 in 48 and for hunting i always shoot buffalo bullets they hit like a shot gun slug .. but 75 grs of powder behind your round ball load will give ya all you`ll need to send a hog to the promise land .. anymore powder and she won`t shoot as straight ..
