need some help

just got a remington 700 in a .308 cal before i came back to iraq... wondering if i should get a recoil pad or not? any thoughts?? also i need a scope. witch scope works well for yall for the 308 cal? i dont know scopes al that well. im looking for a scope a bit bigger than 3x9. all questions, comments, stories are welcome! thanks!!

Scopes; bigger than 3-9x You may want to look into Vortex optics. They are currently changing their model selection and adding new versions. This may lower the price of the old models for clearance specials. I just got a vortex viper in 4-12x 40 with parallax adjustment for $380 usually $499. The new models are priced around the same amount. The vortex diamondback models are good as well for less money, but they dont have parallax adjustment. The warranty is the best in the buisness imo. Forever, for any reason, fully transferrable. They stand behind the products 100 percent. I have compared the viper to a ziess conquest. Equally clear and bright.
