Need some help with "steel core" ammo

Hello, I am getting ready to sell a lot of ammo.

I am wondering if anyone could tell me whether some of this stuff is truly steel core or not or if it is just steel jacketed.

Some have steel cases, all bullets attract a magnet.

The Norinco SP and S&B are steel jacket, lead core. If you have any Norinco FMJ, that stuff is usually steel core.

The German M43 7.62x39 is steel core if I'm remembering correctly.

I think the Portuguese 7.62x51 is steel jacket, lead core, but don't take that as gospel.

Thank you sir. The German ammo stuck to the magnet a lot more than the others, so it probably is steel core. How much does steel core ammo in 7.62x39mm go for?

And that surplus is Portuguese? Your thinking steel jacket and I think you are right. None have as strong of attraction to the magnet as the steel core German ammo.

curious question

Do you know of any laws against shooting steel core ammo, except posted range regulations and hunting regulations?

steel core ammo shoot through tree

One of my friends said he shot an AK at a tree with a steel core bullet, and the bullet went through the tree (maybe 12' across) and was sticking out the other side. Could this be true?
