Need some help, Please

I am new to S&W handguns but not to handguns in general. Just bought a 625-8 JM revolver and would like to know the age. Serial # CWY-XXXX The spent shell in the little envelope says Date: 10/27/2014. Can I then think that is close to when it was made.
Also a curious thing is that this JM model has a smooth trigger.
This pistol is new to me but was previously owned. Could it be a PC model? It is in like new condition but I would like more info on it.
Thank You for the help provided and all the good comments made about this model of revolver that lead me to purchasing one. Can't wait to fire it!

The fired casing is generally thought of as the "birthday" though it isn't exact. (I was kinda sad that my last Ruger GP100 did not have the little envelope. There are no states that still require it, so it is no longer included - by Ruger anyway)

I am assuming this is your gun:

There is also a PC version but it has "Performance Center" on the right side of the barrel and has the clown grips:

Oh yeah, welcome to TFL! :)
