Need some help identifing musket

My grandpa just gave me a musket and a powder horn that he has had in a closet. He has really bad alzheimers and could not inform me on anything about it. I am only 18 and i'm do not really have a clue about guns but I am still fasinated with them. All i know are the physical descriptions and could use some help on how to find a serial number or something on the musket. And the powder horn has a name on it but part of it has been fadded away over the years. If anyone could help with any part of this please do.

Are you able to take some good photos of it and post them? Also, if you could list any names, dates, etc. or markings on it, that would help. Does it have a round or octogon barrel. Does the wood stock go all the way to the end of the barrel or half way? What is the buttplate, triggerguard, etc. made of? Steel or brass? Approximately what is the diameter of the bore - does it appear to have rifling or is it smoothbore like a shotgun? As much information that you could provide would be a big help.
