Need some AR optic advice

Hi, I have this model AR: http://www.rockriverarms.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=220

It has an integral rear sight. I want to add an Eotech or an Aimpoint or something similar, but I'm wondering which would work best. Is it easier to co-witness or should I mount it higher than the rear sight.

Thoughts?

Personally, I would go with an Aimpoint H-1 on a LaRue lower 1/3 mount and switch the rear sight to a Magpul MBUS

If you like aimpoint, just call them and ask which mount co-witnesses.

To answer your question, mounting it too much higher than your sights will cause your cheek weld (and accuracy) to be poor to non-existent. I'm a big proponent of co-witness or lower 1/3 co-witness because the muscle memory you develop with your optic will be the same should you have to go to irons.
