Need some advice on a pair of shotguns

Alright everyone I am looking to pick up a pair of shotguns for some security work. this is the criteria

1) I dont want to put anything extra on it e.g. side saddle or similar things that would weigh it down and add thickness to the reciever etc.

2) no flames now but it is going to be a pistol grip

3)very durible finish since it wont always be babied

4)capacity since there will not be a side saddle

5) 18 inch barrel

6) pump action no autos since reduced recoil 00 buck will be the load

7) no custom firearms I might have the triggers slicked up a bit but nothing else really done to it basically stock

Thanks LorenzoSD

Winchester, Mossberg and Remington each make the gun which you describe.

An Ithaca would fit the bill also, but I don't believe any had factory pistol grip stock sets; you would need to add one, which may be in contradiction to #1

I know they are all good choices those are the ones I was mainly thinking of I dont mind having to add a pistol grip aftermarket but the main thing I am looking for is one choice and why in your opinion you would choose this one or that one

thanks LorenzoSD

My vote goes to a pair of Remington 870 Marine Magnums. They fill all your reqirements (minus the pistol grip). They come with the 18" barrel and factory mag extension. They are finished in nickel and well, they're 870's!
I shoot with a guy who has one with a pistol gripped full stock and a side saddle. It is really quite nice.
At around 400.00 ea., they're not cheap though.
Good luck,
Mike

I've shot a 1300 that had the Pachmyer pistol grip - seemed to be a good PG. The aluminum receiver should be more rust resistand than a steel one. For $250 each, you could have a set-up according to your specs.

I do have a Winchester 120 but atleast on the 120 the finish isnt durable enogh for my needs. plus I am not really too happy with the slide action on it I want something a little smoother. anyone know if I can get a PG for the Nova
