My local shop has a like new 230SL for sale.
It is used but looks like it was never shot.
It's complete with 2 mags, case, manual and a test target that looks like all shots went almost thru one hole. They want 440.00 out the
door.Any thoughts on the pistol and the price? They tend to sell any good pistols quickly so I need to move on this tomorrow if I want it.Thanks.It's in .380 and the price seems a little high but I may be able to deal.

Howdy Waxahachie - I have both a P230SL and a P232 blue/stnls. I like them both but like the P232 best. Upside of the P230 is that its all stnls and marked "Made in W. Germany" & is the only SIG I have which is so marked. Downside to me is magazine manipulation. Try changing the mag at the shop before you buy - the mag well is so tight on my P230 that its a real PITB to change (especially insert) mags (and scars the tar out of the mag well in the process). SIG re-spec'd the mag well/grips on the P232 & its more user friendly and doesn't scar (even the aluminum) magwell in the process. That said - the P230 is an extremely well made h/g that won't wear out and won't depreciate; but if it were me I'd still offer them $400 & see what they say. One last thought - unfortunately I can't find a Kahr here in Germany but I've handled a couple in the States & they feel great. For a few more bucks & a little more size/weight - you can have a 7-rd 9mm + support the US workforce. I have not fired one however & there may be some drawbacks to the Kahrs about which I'm not aware. Good luck ...

I say get it...

I have owned a 230 for years now, and I have never regretted it. Its one of the finest 380's money can buy, and virtually bulletproof. There is a bit of a trick to doing magazine changes (you have to start them a little angled, then straighten them to push them in) but this is not really a gun designed to have to go multiple mags.

If you are in the S*** that bad, you need a different gun. In my mind, the 230 is a great sized package when you want easy shootability in a sub-compact frame and deep concealment is not necessary. Yes, the 232 is also a fine gun.

As far as price, bring cash and offer them $400 +tax + dros if they will do the deal right now. If they say no, ask if they will run it buy the owner/manager first before you walk. If they still say no, then ask them what they will do to get that gun sold. I'm bettign they take it. ;)

Good luck!

These are excellent pistols which I recommend highly. Only recently did I rid myself of one because I rarely shot it or carried it. Other than a Walther perhaps, I can't think of a better 380.

I've owned a P230 for almost seven years, and never had a problem with it. Also, have not had the magazine insertion problem. Go for it!!
