Need scope help

I listened to hooligan1 a few months ago and bought a Vortex 4x12x40 for $189 from Optics Planet. Man, it's like looking through a light tube, its so sharp! Feels like a real solid scope. Will try it out in the field this fall. If you like distancing reticles get the BDC reticle for $10 more. The AO will cost you another $50 or so.

Well if you take mustard with that hat Killkinney, go and pick up the Vortex Diamondback, 4-12x40, with or without AO, with the "deadhold" reticle,,,,, then for the same money look at the Redfield Revolution, and the Nikon, and the Weaver 44 series which is the same price, and if you can't honeslty tell the difference between those scopes see an eye doctor. After you get through with that test look at the warranty, and customer service. ;)

+1 for the vortex . I just put a crossfire 2. . 6-18x44 on my new Savage It worked great . The turets tracked perfect . Did the whole scope tracking test and it was dead on . I bought this scope as a temp for my new savage . I can't afford the 1k scope I want right now . When I get the better scope this scope will go on my Ruger American . I will say at full mag it got a little dirty/muddy . Dialed it back to 14x and it was crystal clear .

Bushnell Elite Tactical

Tell you one thing I am continually reminded when at the range-don't buy cheap scopes.
Having said that I can heartily recommend my latest edition, the Bushnell Elite Tactical for $260, this must be one of the best scopes out there for the price

I went with the Nikon Prostaff 4-12x40

Standard Nikoplex, no BDC stuff. I looked at the Nikon BDC at Dicks, it was very nice, but standard cross hairs are what I wanted.

It ended up costing me $144.95 shipped from Optics Planet with a coupon code.

Can't really beat that.
