Hi All,

First time here, great forums.:)
Just purchased a MkIII 512 pistol and was told at the shop by the salesman that I need to be aware that some soft rubber grips for the MkII work on the MkIII, and some dont. { would have been nice if he could have been more explicit} The 1 piece or slip ons I realize wont work due to the position change of the mag release, but does anyone have any input into Hogue/ Pachmyar or other manufacturers of a set that will work. I am not fond of the standard grips {sweaty hands} I prefer the soft rubber over wood/plastic grips. I have replaced the grips on my Taurus 99FS {Baretta 99/clone} and my S/W 910s with good results and am hoping to do the same for the MkIII yet I am having problems finding any grip manufacturers claiming the models they make for the MkII work on the MkIII.
Please help. :(

Great Site, I expect to be on here often. :o

I have th same gun, and the same problem. Currently, there is only one manufacturer making grips soley for the MKIII, except factory Ruger, and that is Volquartzen. They now have their Volthant target grips and are 60 bucks from midway. In their current catalog, they have them listed for 20 bucks for the mark 2 and 3, but after a phone conference with them, I was made aware of the fac t that the article was a typo. I have researched many brands, and none currently make models for the Mark III.

You can do the adjustments yourself, but it can be tricky. I tried it with a cheap pair of wood target grips from CDNN for the MKI and after a lot of grinding, with a cheap rotary tool, they fit, but because of the lack of thickness on the upper right corner on the left grip panel, a pin located there was no longer covered so I had to replace the factory grip panels.

Just splurge and get the VQ's, I'm thinking about it too.

Hope this helps, or at least informs,
