Need Rifle Help

I just got into the whole gun ownership not that long ago, but I've always been a huge fan since day one. I turned 19 not that long ago and got my very first firearm. The Caracal F.

Anyways, I'm getting deployed in less than two months so I have a while to think about this, but I want to get a rifle when I get back home.

I'm looking for something unusual but also reliable. I was thinking of an L85A2, but then realized how rare they are in the US. Then I was thinking of an ACR.

Any thoughts? Ideas? Info?

Thanks!

Try your shooting buddies guns. You can find out what you like or dislike for the price of the ammunition. That's better than reading a gun magazine or any website.

Welcome Hanns. You are way younger, but I am new to getting back into guns and we both share the Caracal F -Only put a few mags through it but it is a great gun.

On the rifle though, I have not bought one myself - have many in family though.
Was thinking of building up an AR...

Anyone, is this a good idea for someone with some time on their hands and probably not a lot of cash?

Stay safe and good hunting.

ACR's aren't too common. If something breaks, getting replacement parts might be a problem. Then again, your money, your call.

If you want reliability, I recommend a good AR or an AK. A friend has a SCAR in .308 that runs like a sewing machine if you want to go that route.

Thanks all for your good luck wishes (: It means a lot.

I just need info on what you all shot, how you liked it, but most of all what you hated about it.

I enjoy my C93, shoots the 5.56 like you're used to. My buddy has and M-4gery and he really likes it (USAF) but I do all the maintenance on it (USMC):D. I at one point was pretty hot considering an AR-15a4 but when it came to buying it I just couldn't. It'll be a little while before I can I think...

Get yourself a Ruger 10/22 otherwise... Tons of fun to shoot, cheap to shoot, and you get get kits to make them look like almost anything.

Keep your head down, and boots on the ground brother.
