Need recommendation for a bipod/monopod for a Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter

I mounted a scope on my dad's Super Blackhawk Hunter 8 inch barrel and it is heavy as hell. He mentioned getting a bipod/monopod for it. Well, his birthday is coming up next month and I'd like to get one for him. I've googled but am not having a lot of luck. What kind of bipod/monopod would be right for it and how would I mount it?

Don't mount anything to the gun, it is heavy enough as it is. Get him something like thishttp://www.sportsmanswarehouse.com/sportsmans/Primos-Trigger-Stick/productDetail/Bipods-and-Shooting-Rests/prod9999000490/cat100413 or something similar to thishttp://www.sportsmanswarehouse.com/sportsmans/Stoney-Point-Telescoping-Crusader-Bipod/productDetail/Bipods-and-Shooting-Rests/prod9999005281/cat100413 I use a short set of sticks most of the time, but the tall set is good for tall brush and grass while hunting.

I too recommend against the mounting of a bipod as the mounting position may make a difference of POI between shooting off the bipod and shooting freehand. I suggest either bags or a pistol rest for bench and stand shooting and a shooting stick for when walking. Just make sure to mount the revolver properly and not just rest the barrel.

I use one of these for bench and just a cheapo telescoping shooting stick for the field.
