Need Parker Hale .308 help

This is my first post here and I am looking for some help in identifying a rifle I just came into possession of. It has an enfield action with a Parker Hale heavy barrel, heavy wood stock and is in .308 caliber. Magazine looks like a regular SMLE 303 mag but holds .308. It isn't the Ishapore mag. The thick fore end has an insert with multiple threaded holes. The sights are removed, no front sight nor does it look like there ever was one. the rear sight has been removed partially, a Parker Hale marked mount is on the left side but has empty threaded hole, right side has an integral mount with the empty threaded hole. Any ideas? Is this some sort of bubbified rifle or is it some rifle I haven't heard of before? thanks for any replies.

Parker Hale .308

Thanks for the assistance. Nothing there appears to be similar. This one looks like a target rifle, not a sporter. Heavy barrel and rather bulbous forearm. The rear sights are missing , two drilled/tapped holes at the front of the receiver. I'll keep researching, must be out there somewhere. Thanks again.

Sounds like you might have what is known as an "Enfield Envoy," but I'm not sure just how much P-H had to do with those conversions.

Parker Hale .308

Another clue that may or may not mean anything, the barrel is stamped with Parker Hale T4 model. I don't have this rifle in my possession, will pick it up this weekend.

Parker Hale .308

Is the PH T4 a good rifle? the bore is really clean and sharp, I think it will shoot well, well, better than I can, I'm sure. The sights are missing. Any idea where I can find them? It also has two empty drilled holes on the front bridge of the receiver, is that normal for a T4 or has someone put a scope on it? Thanks for the info, I'm glad to finally figure out what it is. Can I assume the enfield action can handle surplus .308 ammo? I like the 165 gr bullets for .308/.30-06reloads but will mostly be firing surplus. Will work up new loads to feed this beast. Thanks again and any other input is most welcome.

Google or Bing "Parker Hale T4" then select images. You will see some with target sights and some with scopes.

gyvel,
Will the Enfield B-Square scope mount work on this? It seems to be a regular No.4 Mk I action.

Curious...
What are the Federal laws here, and in England- related to export/import of weapons- no way, right?

Seems they're priced pretty reasonably across the pond (under $500 US) and it would be pretty cool for a US collector to have one.

Guess like the Garand is plentiful here, so goes the Enfield, there...

If the weapon qualifies as a curio and relic, I believe you can import it, but you need a special permit from BATF and you can't ever sell it.

This would actually qualify as a sporting weapon, and might be able to be imported as well, but you would have to contact BATF about that.

At any rate, it's a bit of a hassle, but not as bad as you might expect.

I imported a NIB CZ82 from Canada back in the 90s (before they were a dime a dozen--LOL!!) through a friend of mine who had an FFL and it wasn't bad at all. In addition, he was a Winchester collector and imported an 1892 from Australia that he had seen on vacation.
