Need opinion on P32 recoil spring

I recently received a new hardchromed slide back from Kel Tec for my P32. I did not send in the original guide rod and recoil spring, but when I got the slide, barrel, etc. back, they had included a new rod and spring.

Here's the problem. The new spring is approximately 4 coils longer than the original that was shipped with the gun (serial # 12XXX). It is, of course, much stiffer and harder to install. Which of these springs do you folks think I should use. Haven't fired it yet. I'm going to wait until I get input here.

Thx!

SG12,

Good for you, you saved a few bucks! I ordered the Wolff 13# recoil spring for my P-32 after I got a few failures to feed with Fiocchi ammo. It too was a little longer and a LOT stiffer. Since installing it, not only has the spring compressed a little, but I have had 0 misfeeds. The little peashooter works like a dream now.
In my P-32, prior to putting the stronger spring in, you could push the slide out of battery about 1/4 inch, and it would stay there. With the longer spring, it locks tight no matter what.

The bigger spring is a good thing, so shoot em' up!

I don't know which spring they sent to you but many people including me use a inner recoil spring from the KelTec P40 as a P32 outer spring. Wolff also now makes heavier duty recoil springs for the KelTec pistols.

i got my chrome slide & barrel back from KT yesterday and noticed the same thing, didn't count coils but it was sticking out a lot more than the old one.
i'm going to try both of them see if there is any difference.

I just went and got the new guide rod spring that Kel-Tec sent when I exchanged the blue slide for the hard chrome "upgrade". It isn't four coils bigger, but it is bigger. I installed the new spring and it does seem a little "stiffer". I'll keep the new one in and post after I go to the range.
I'm still having trouble with the new metal guide rod. I've polished and polished until it shines like a mirror however, my P-32 just feels less smooth with the metal rod.

i just counted coils on the new & old outer springs, 22 each. the new spring is just not compressed yet. guess it will be the same length as the old one soon.
