Need N-Frame grips

I need a set of panel style grips for a square butt N-frame (the old type where the front and rear of the grip frame are exposed). These are for my Model 28.

This evening I made the mistake of letting my son help me with my guns. Wood grips and the disposal don't go together very well.

Now I have the T-Grip and no grips to use them with. :(

I ordered a set of walnut target grips for my 27. They were only $15. I will probably sand and refinish them, but they were pretty good for the money. They have other grip styles too. I also got a grip for a Dan Wesson 15. Shipping can be an added cost if you are only ordering a small order.

I considered going the CDNN route for my dad's birthday, but he actually wanted a Hogue. (That suited me, because it took all of 10 minutes to drive to a gunstore and get that!) Are some of the ridiculously cheap grips for wheelies all of good quality? I wondered because you mentioned refinishing them, and sometimes the prices seem TOO good. I have always been happy with the magazines I have gotten from them, but I don't know anyone who has ordered the grips...

I got grips off of CDNN for my SecuritySix and I had to adjust them with a file so that they would fit the grip. It was a little frustrating, having to do that, but I figured if I only paid 8 something dollars I have no reason to complain.

I'd suggest you try eBay for N-Frame grips. You usually get a wider variety of new and used and prices than on Gunbroker and I got a few N-Frame grips using eBay.

thanks

Thanks.

The grip style I am looking for, the old Magna grips, aren't available through CDNN (at least not for the N Frame).

However, I did find a pair on the S&W forum so I think I am set. I should get the gun back from the smith by the 25th. I'll pop on the new grips and get a pick up on the board ASAP.

Sometimes getting a gun back from the gun smith is like getting a whole new gun. Since I won't be buying any more handguns here in California after this year, I think a few of my older guns might get treated to a face lift...

It might be worth your while to look at Ajax: http://www.ajaxgrips.com, Collins Craft: http://www.inventorscolony.com/collinscraftgrips, and Herrett: http://www.herrett-stocks.com.

These tend to be somewhat on the expensive side, but I've done business with all three firms, and give them top marks.

Speaking of model 28s: I've recently received my trusty old model 27-2 back from the shop. I bought it with an 8.375" barrel that wouldn't shoot straight with any load I tried, and I tried dozens. I eventually had that replaced with a Douglas barrel from Clark that shot wonderfully straight, but was much too heavy for my wrist. Now it's sporting a six-inch model 28 barrel. I figure it's now a model 27 1/2. It seems to shoot reasonably well, and I like the balance. The model 28 barrel is just as well finished as the model 27 frame.

Handgun Grips

Maybe you might want to check this guy out, Handgun Grips Found this via The Shotgun News. I haven't bought anything from him yet. But it looks like he has some pretty nice stuff.;) He may have what your looking for! :)
