Hey everyone, I have a little .22 Smith and Wesson pistol that was given to me from my uncle. Well, I don't know too much about guns so I figured this would be the place to go. I was wondering if anyone can tell me the date it was manufactured, is it a valuable gun, just basic information like if it was a popular gun. The serial number is 90614. Thank you for your help. I tried uploading the pictures but there too big so the link to my photo bucket is below.

Not a .22. Its a 32 S&W model 32 double action aka DA in cal 32 S&W. Its a fourth model with that SN and IIRC its also an antique aka pre 1899 due to the SN. Probably dates to the 1890s. Its a 5 shop top eject gun. Many were made, over 300k IIRC. While they were not expensive compared to other S&W models, they are much better made than most other top break guns from the era. Your gun appears to be original nickel plate which was common on these. Your barrel looks to be a 3 in or 3.5 in which was also common. They're neat little guns. I used to have a bunch more than I have now. A gun almost just like it, but a little bigger was made in 38 S&W and a similar gun, bigger yet, in 44 cal was also made.

I have a few in my collection:

S&W did not offer a break-top double action in 22 so if it's a genuine S&W then it's a .32 Double Action 4th Model. Serial numbers ran from 43406 in 1883 to 282999 in 1909.

Yeah I don't really know much about guns, so I guess its a .32 lol, thank you guys for your information I really appreciate it.

The .32 Fourth Model is a common gun, and the most numerous of the S&W .32 breaktops, with some 240,000 made. So, it was a popular gun, but that has its drawbacks in that the value is low and there are enough guns in like new condition that collectors are not very interested in ones in lesser condition. Value would run about $200 or a bit more, retail.

Yours is not bad, but the nickel plating is flaking, so it is not in top shape.

It should be safe to fire a small number of modern .32 S&W cartridges, but I would not consider use for any serious purposes - the cartridge is way underpowered, and the old springs and parts are fragile.
