Need info on Speer loads

Bought some 160 grain 7 mm Speer flat base spitzers. Not boat tail. . Don't have a Speer manual and not too fond of Hodgdon website. Prefer bulletmaker advise. Going to be using Hornady brass and IMR 4831 and Reloader 22. Cci mag primers or Remington 91/2 magnum primers. Would like to know starting and max loads for both powders and coal if anyone has a Speer reloading book. I only have Nosler, Sierra, and Hornady. Guess I have more to buy.

Alliant and Speer are both owned by ATK, so in some cases Alliant data is Speer data.

7mm Rem Mag data: (I'm assuming 7mm Rem Mag from previous threads).

160gr Speer Spitzer, Reloader 22, 65gr max charge, reduce by 10% and work up. Source is Alliants reloading data, CCI 250 primer, Rem case, 2,976 fps from 24" barrel.

Hodgdon doesn't list the 160 Speer as a bullet with IMR4831, and I don't have the Speer reloading manual handy, sorry.

Hope that is helpful anyway.

It was helpful. I appreciate it. Yes it's a 7 mm mag. Bullet appears to be a lot like Sierra bot tail spitzer that I shoot from my 308. Just flat bottom. No boat tail. Got a really good price on 200 of them. Haven't used the Reloader 22 yet. IMR 4831 has been perfect in 62-63 grains for 140-150 Nosler bt's. Just wanted to try a heavier bullet. From Sierra looks like Reloader 22 is a good powder for the heavier bullet. Slower burn rate I think is what I read. Not looking for extreme velocity. I probably won't shoot these over 400 yards. Well, husband won't. I don't shoot the magnum.
