Can anyone give me any information on a S&W Model # .042. I know it is a discontinued model and is hammerless. Please let me know of any good and bad points to this revolver.

Good points.

Mine disappears in my pocket without a trace. It's light. It's VERY easy to control even with 125-gr. +P ammo. The trigger is decent. It's got good looks. It's a Smith & Wesson. There were only about 6,200 made.

When I figure out the bad points, I'll let you know. :)

Actually, you shouldn't use it with a steady diet of +P ammo. It can be kind of rough on the hand shooting 158-gr. ammo in it.

i have the stainless/alloy version, the 642

very nice, light, study, handy...i don't need a hammer because i only shoot wheelguns DA and i like the "sealed" (from the top) action

got to know it using larger grips before changing over to "boot grips" for carry...it can go everywhere

can be quite a handful with 158gr lswchp +p ammo, i ususally carry federal personal defense jhp (because i can't find the federal nyclad "chief's special" (non-+p) loading)
