Need holster reccomendations for semi-auto concealed carry

Just got my CHL today, and I want to start carrying ASAP.
For today I put my Sig P-225 in an Uncle Mikes Nylon holster on my belt. (left side for cross draw access when driving)
The problem with that is that the grip is too far to the rear when in that position so it makes it hard to draw.

I also have an Uncle Mikes Nylon sholder holster, (that fits my S&W 915) but when I adjust it for good fit, it feels like there is a lump in my armpit, and hurts my arm.

I also have a Glock 21, which is the one I'd really prefer to carry since I like .45, but none of the above holsters will fit it, and I also would like to be able to carry the Glock 21 with the attached M-3 Tatical Light. I could take the light off, but I feel that it is a big asset to have at night.

Any holster reccomendations for concealed carry for any of the three weapons listed? (Sig 225 - S&W 915 - Glock 21)

"Jack of all trades...

...master of none."

IMHO, you would be better served with specific holsters for the individual weapons....buying a holster that "does it all" generally means that it does NOTHING well...

I have no information on a holster that will let you carry your Glock with the light attached. Perhaps one of the "tactical" style holsters would help, of course, those are NOT exactly designed for concealment. For that matter, it would be MUCH harder to conceal the pistol with the light attached.

I know that several makers have holsters designed for car use. One of those, or perhaps a crossdraw style holster, would probably be your best bet for auto use...

I know this really wasnt the information that you are looking for, but perhaps it will help guide you in your search...

P225 - xdraw, the Alessi RCMP Drivers Xdraw. IWB, the YCS from M/D Enterprises. OWB, SVS from M/D Enterprises for 3 o'clock carry or the CQC-S from Lou Alessi for 4-5 o'clock carry.

915 - If you want a shoulder rig Alessi makes the Bodyguard or the Fieldmaster depending on which orientation you like.

G21 - Alessi CQC-S. The holster can be made to accomodate your light, but you would have to send Lou your light if not the light and gun to have the holster made. A Fieldmaster shoulder holster would also work if you prefer that method over hip carry.

I will assume you, too, will find that a good strong-side belt (either IWB or on-the-belt) holster is best.
Or a "Miami Classic" shoulder rig from Galco.

Here's a website that will leave you dazed and confused. It is contains a list of the websites of most holster manufacturers.

Most of us have found that selecting the right holster is a very simple process. First, you need a large box. You then purchase a cheap holster and as it causes you discomfort or embarresment (drawing your holster with your pistol IS embarresing), you replace it with something slightly more expensive. You eventually work yourself up to a quality holster designed to perform a specific function. At the same time you are comforted by the fact that you have hundreds of dollars worth of cheap holsters in a large box if you should ever need one. At least that's how I did it.

Some good names to remember are Mitch Rosen, Milt Sparks, Lou Alessi, Sidearmor, M/D just to name a few. Good luck.

Try out the Fobus. At $ 22.95 each and specifically made for each weapon they are great. Weighs only 2 oz, fantastic weapon retention, lifetime warranty, easy to clean and impervious to just about anything. It's worth a try. I've got two for my P220 and will get one for my 92FS and BHP as well.

I use a Fobus Paddle Holster for for outside-pants carry and an Alessi Hard Shell Talon IWB for inside-pants carry, for Para P12.

Both are excellent designs that stay put when you draw and carry and retain the gun well while carrying. The Alessi Hard Shell also retains shape well when the gun is drawn for easy one-hand reholstering - something not every IWB holster offers.

A nice feature of the Alessi Hard Shell IWB is that it's designed to clip over the pants, with the clip UNDER the belt for an another level of concealability.

I use a galco IWB for my sigs.220 and 245.Was bought for the 220 but the 245 fits very well.I tried fobus and it didn't conceal well for me.IMO the best concealment is with a IWB .

Get one of Greg's horsehide holsters. You will not be dissappointed. I carry a Kahr K40 Covert in an IWB #3 and a Sig P220 in an IWB# 2 and they are both quite comfortable, and very concealable. The Kahr "dissappears". The Sig hides real well also.

Like others have said, there is nothing that will work as well as a holster that is made for a specific weapon, and purpose.

for the glock with optional light system, i recommend looking a blade-techs holsters. they make a strong side carry holster made of kydex that is made for the glock with light attachment. i own the iwb tuckable and i love it.

hope that helps

If you're talkin' IWB & Kydex the best one IMO is David Elderton's Ky-Tac "Braveheart". http://hometown.aol.com/kytac If you must carry with an M3 Frank Spezzano of Cen-Dex does his Kydex for the 21. http://www.cen-dex.com MD Labs, aka "Mad Dog" does a Tac Low-Ride w/Thumb-Break for Glocks with M3. http://www.mdenterprise.com/holsters.htm Otherwise in leather Lou Alessi's "Talon+", "CQC-S", etc. are very hard to beat. http://www.rfholsters.com Certainly can not go wrong with Kramer, Sparks, DelFatti, Andrews, etc. If you favor Horsehide look into Rusty Sherrick's supple but firm leather. He does an OTB version for Glocks w/M3. @ http://www.c-rusty.com
