Need help with scope purchase

I have an AR-50 that likes to eat the cheap scopes I have been feeding it until I can afford a better one (now). Would like to start shooting out to 500yds +. I see that some Barretts come with Bushnell Elite 3200s, but I am not crazy about the 3" eye relief (I am partial to the current configuration of my eyebrows and nose). I am looking for a Variable power (6-20/24/30) scope in the $400-$600 range. Any advice on this subject would be great.

Those sure are nice scopes.....too bad they are about $1000 above my price range. Does anyone have any suggestions for something that will hold up in the $400-$600range

Thanks all for your responses! Trust me, if I had the the extra $1000 or so I would definitley be buying the Nightforce or Swarovski.

Any thoughts on Konus or the Burris FullField II scopes?

I've never owned a Burris, but they get a lot of respect.

See this thread for opinions.

Konus, well, they get NO respect. Pretty universally disliked, but I don't see many people who've actually ever used one.

If I was spending in the $200ish range then I'd be getting a Mueller.

In your $400-600 range, Sightron SII Big Sky

Thanks for the info! I have been looking at the Nikon Monarch or the Sightron II. They both have about the same eye-relief, I think the decision will depend on what reticles are available, leaning towards a MilDot.
