...New Model Super Blackhawk. 1st, I'm very well aware of "single action flip", especially with a 44. However, no matter how I load the silly thing it always wants to shoot a couple inches high at 25yds. The rear sight is as far down as it will go. Are there any taller after-market front sight blades available that don't require a smith to install? The blade seems to be held in place by an itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny pin. My only other option would be to start aiming lower. Or am I doing something wrong?:confused: I'd appreciate any help.
 
Bowen Classic Arms offers several front and rear sights. Bowen provide this warning:


It is extremely important to note that many of the sights in this section are sold in unfinished form. They are supplied in-the-white and are not shaped, serrated, cut to height or blued, photographs of finished, installed sights notwithstanding. To achieve the appearance of the sights shown in the photos, you or your gunsmith will have to engage in various milling/drilling/silver-soldering/finishing operations to attractively install these on your gun. Since we cannot know the exact nature of every application, we cannot supply these sights shaped or finished since this would require that we know the exact height of the blade which we cannot know until and unless the blank is installed on the gun and the gun test-fired. Pinned blades cannot be pre-drilled as there is too much variation in factory blades and virtually no chance of a good fit. Each blade has to be fitted individually. Silver soldering, where required, will destroy the local bluing and require that the barrel/sight be re-blued. These parts are delivered with instructions for installations. Take a similar warning when shopping Brownell's or other sources.
 
Your front sight is not pinned on, it is a solid piece, and it is screwed on with a steady in under it, then brazed to the barrel.

It sounds like you are loading low velocity loads and the gun is hitting above point of aim. This is normal. Use higher velocity ammo and this issue will go away.
