Need help with Mossberg 500 pistol grip

I recently bought a factory pistol grip kit for my Mossberg 500 Mariner. I managed to get the grip itself installed, but I can't figure out how to put in the sling attachment. The hold in the grip where it's supposed to install doesn't seem to have threading. Can anyone explain to me how it works?
