need help with mag spring

I got an old Sears model 12 20 guage with a mag plug in it, can I get rid of the whole stick or do I have to keep the end and cut off the rest

Get rid of the stick and see how well it does loading the shells. I don't believe you'll need it.

Pull the plug, it will work fine without it.

Hang on to it in case you ever want to hunt game where the laws limit magazine capacity.

The plug is probably to reduce the capacity to 2 shells... a hunting requirement, most likely. Removing it shouldn't be a problem.

yup took it out seems to work fine
