I put on order a Kimber Pro Eclipse II and was told it could take up to 4 weeks from my dealer they are on back order.. Well I hate waiting then I saw a Colt Gold Cup Trophy SS what a nice looking gun felt real nice too. I can not decide which one to get now the Colt is in stock I am thinking of cancelling the Kimber Order and go with the Colt. Not sure though. I already have a Kimber Classic SS and really like that. So thats why I was going to go with another Kimber. But the Colt on the other hand.. Its a COLT..

Any help would be greatly appreciated. and the colt is only about 40.00 more..

Thanks:confused:

But remember, I'm impatient

Get the Colt. A gun in the hand is worth three guns on back-order.
And it's not like your trying to decided between a Kimber and a Llama 1911, it's a Gold Cup.

shooter.45, it's your $$ so it's your choice, but arent't these 2 different types of guns?

I'm not up on my Colts, but I know that the Pro Eclipse is a 4", bushingless barrel with fixed night sights. Sort of a combat pistol.

Isn't the Colt GCT a 5" barrel with bushing, adjustable sights (I don't believe night sights), and accurized for target/gaming?

Not that either one would make a bad addition to your battery, but it seems as though they are designed for different types of shooting.

I agree with Kevinch. I recently bought a Kimber Custom CDP, for CCW/home defense use. I looked at the Pro Eclipse too, but someone purchased it before I could. Massad Ayoob calls the Pro Eclipse II an "ultimate carry pistol". IMHO, the GC doesn't fall into that category from a CCW perspective.

Yes I know about the Difference of Barrel and so on. But its more for Range use I have another 4" Semi that I use for the Range and shoots fine. Dont mind the sizes in Barrel Just confused abou t which one would be better or worth getting..????

Right now I am really leaning more towards the Colt have to make my decision by next wed. So I can tell him to cancel the Kimber order or not too?? I am really getting a headache?#?$#$

Get the Colt
There have been problems with the new safety system in the series II Kimbers, not going into battery.

Besides you already have a Kimber, NOW IT IS TIME TO STEP UP AND OWN A COLT

shooter.45,
I have no idea which gun is better, but I've had experience with impatience cheating me out of what I really wanted. I think you shouldn't let the wait influence your purchase. If the Kimber is what you want, wait the 4 weeks.
