Need Help with a 92 A1 Compact Trigger/Spring issue

So, I have a relatively new Betetta 92FS that I picked up at Cabela's during their Veteran's Day sale. The gun has always performed flawlessly until I decided to mess with it.

I ordered a steel trigger from Beretta along with a skeletonized hammer and some Hogue grips. New trigger came with a new main spring and trigger spring. Main spring is significantly shorter than the stock one but the various videos I found on-line showed people exchanging them just fine.

I installed everything and it all fit back together as I think it should (spring is over the strut in case that question comes up). However, the trigger does not return to its position as it should but seems to get stuck in the depressed position. It is easy to slide it back to its original position so it is not jammed.

I tried putting the original trigger spring back in but it is the same issue. I have not tried the original main spring.

Sorry for the newb question but I need some help. Thanks!

These two videos do a pretty good job of showing how all the parts should go together.

The trigger pin goes through the loop of the spring with the spring forming a V. One leg of the V lies against the bottom of the cavity in the frame, the second leg pushes back against the "pin" on the forward end of the trigger bar.

The trick is getting the back leg forward to hook over the trigger bar. Make a little hook on one end of a paperclip and you can hook the end and pull it forward while you push the trigger bar into position from the right side of the pistol.

Be sure not to lose the small spring on the right side of the gun (under the grip) that tensions the trigger bar. You can see it at 0:42 in the second video.
