need help/value old shotgun

1920 "J. Stevens Arms & Tool Co.Chicopee Fals, Mass. U.S.A. BROWNING PAT'S. FEB. 7, 1905. AUG.27.1907" and bears serial No. 26394. My Grandfather was Forest W McNeir [Trapshooting Hall of Fame and in 1920 US Olympic team ... also first man to break 100 in England]. Where/Who should I pursue to get this shotgun properly evaluated. I don't shoot anymore and I think it needs a good home. Thanks.

If its the Gun that your grandfather used in competition . I would think the NRA would want ot have it in their museum. Sounds like he was a great shotguner ,you must be proud of him. Your right the gun needs a good home .

help/shotgun

Thanks. Yes, I am proud of the heritage. He won this shotgun and when he used it in competition I have no way of knowing - although I am fairly certain that he did use it. He also wrote "Forest W McNeir of Texas" an autobiography [primarily for family] and in the shooting sections he probably did include which shotgun he used in various competitions. He also won the Carnegie Medal for Heroism in 1922 for saving the life of a fireman in the "Being-Cortes" fire. He was the first to win this award non-postumously. I had not thought about the NRA so I suppose the Trapshooting Hall of Fame might also be an option. I was really hoping for a "home" that meant usage and enjoyment! Thanks again.

I'll take it and use it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Promise!!!!

Seriously, have any family that might be interested? If not NRA or THF.

Be proud and stay safe.
Bob
