need help to id mauser

i have a 7x57 mauser i got o about 2 years ago it was sporterized before i got it so i dont no what action it is im lookin to get a stock for it but have no idea the only markings r a z-71584 number on theside of the action and what appears to be a 3 on the bottom
 
A lot of the Spanish Model 93 Mausers have no markings on them. Since many of them were chambered for 7X57, I would venture a guess that is what he has.
 
thanks for all ur help i measured and found out that it is a large ring which means its not a 93 if-- if anyone knows what the z number is or if that is a serial number or not
 
That is probably the serial number, but without more information, I would not want to hazard a guess as to the origin of the rifle or any other information.

Since most rifles have the name or code of the maker, a national crest, or some other indication of the gun's origin, I could only conclude that the information has been removed from that gun for some reason.
