hi, i inherited an ar-15 rifle and the lower receiver markings are:
nuarmco
si ny
m 15.
question:
1. i have never heard about this company, is this company still in existence?
2. rifle is in 80% condition ,pre 94 configuration, the lower & upper swaps easily with my friend's pre-ban bushmaster, can i assume that it is milspec?
3.if you were in my predicament, will you keep the rifle? (setting aside sentimental value)
4.my aunt told me that my late uncle bought it early to mid 80's and she cannot find the receipt, is there a way that i can find out for sure if it is a true preban?
any input will be greatly appreciated. thank you.

I would post this down in Harley forum below and I bet within 15 minutes you have an answer. Those guys that hang out down there are awesome and the amount of knowledge blows me away.

All I can say is keep it.....

sounds like a keeper!

here a mention of nuarmco on Bardwell:

ROBERT I. LANDIES )

they are also mentioned in the 93 bill:
http://www.shadeslanding.com/firearms/fed_bills/text_of_hr_3184.txt

it's easily worth a grand or more and there won't be any more for civilians

what features does it have?

threaded barrel
flash hider
collapsing stock
bayonet lug

Some guys have all the luck... well, then again, inheriting stuff is usually preceded by a heavy loss....

thank you very much guys for your your help, i will definitely keep it..
karsten.. i will try that thread
dz.. it has the 4 evil features of klinton that you mentioned.
q-man...that is very true
thanks again..

Mik,
Shall we just say.....I just paid $1300 for a preban NIB BM with all the evil stuff.....You may have something there with your as few were made...
But of course, if you want to dump it I would be happy to send you...say an SKS and a battle pack  Take me up on that offer and I .......Humm, don't know
Ya gotta a keeper and maybe one that a lot don't know about.

Mik....Good choice :009:
I just settled an estate and was dropped off the junk...Well my father had a Model 70 made in 1954. It was a keeper before I did a lot of work cleaning her up.
Keep the AR and pass it down....a family owned PreBan would be fun to have :015:
Give it a good cleaning, a dose of Tetra gun grease and go teach YOUR kids what guns are all about.
