Hi a just came across this revolver it was from my grandfather is a
38 S&W special ctg and the serial number is 594529 and in the top of the barrel says patented feb 606 sept14,09.dec.99,14 CAn you please tell how old is this gun and what type of bullet use

Well, if it's a Smith & Wesson, which I believe it is, it was made probably during World War II.

It's chambered for the .38 Special cartridge, which is one of the most common in use today. You'll have no troubles finding it at any decent gun shop, and often WalMart.
