Need help identifying various Colt & Smith revolver grips

I'm helping a friend sell off an accumulation of revolver grips that he's picked up a few year ago from a non-gunnie friend, who picked up the set as an un-wanted lot at an estate sale.

I already three sets of the grips, ones for which I could identify the proper application. The problem is that I don't have a large collection of revolvers (OK, it begins and ends with my K-Frame S&W Model 15. :) )

So, anyway, if anyone can offer some input on what frames these grips might fit I'd be thankful.

(I didn't put this thread in the trading area because I haven't reached the point that I'm ready to sell them, I'm just looking for information for now.)

The first pair pictured are Third Type Colt target grips as used on the Colt Python.
These are an early Third Type as used on late model Pythons made after the early 1980's.

The Second pair are Second Type Colt target grips, as used on Earlier Colt Pythons made in the 1960's to the later 1970's.
These are desirable grips, and prices often bring $75.00 to $100.00 on ebay

The Third pair are First Type fully checkered Colt Target grips as used on the early 1950's Colt Officer's Model Match, 357, and Trooper.
Although these will fit the Python, the Silver medallions indicate these were not for the Python, which always had Gold medallions.
This type of grips usually sell on Ebay for well in excess of $100.00.
These are the most sought after Colt Target grips of all, and both shooters and collectors will pay high prices.

I'm not much help on S&W grips, but the white pair are after-market plastic replacements made in the old style as used on pre-war S&W's.

The wood S&W stocks are K-frame Diamond Magnas. They will fit any SB K-frame, but will be correct for any one made before 1968. You can get a premium selling those stocks because of their age.

Thank's to everyone who contibuted to my knowledge on identifying these grips.

Now that I'm ready to sell them I took some updated pictures. FWIW, I thought they might provide a useful tool for other people looking to ID these sorts of grips.

Vintage gun grips

Vintage gun grips has at least 50 colts and 25 S&S reproduction grips. Page 2 is Colt page, 6 is S&W. If the grip you want and it underlined in blue, can pull up a photo of the grip which is small. When you hit enlarge, you will get a full size grip photo. They are the only Colt authorized for Collt grips.
