Need help identifying this beauty

Hi, sorry for being a newbie poster but I ran across this gem of a .38 and can not tell what brand or who makes it. Originally posted by DOC50.

Colt Detective Special, post 1974ish (shrouded ejector rod) and probably one of the very late models based on the bobbed hammer.

Thanks, that's probably the nicest .38 I've seen. I imagine being a Colt it's made and shoots very well.

A Detective Special from the 70's wearing Badger Boot Grips. The bobbed hammer has no bearing on age of the gun. This one was bobbed by the owner or he had it done. The hammer on my '69 Agent looks the same and I did that one myself.
