Need help identifying some bolts

Bolts

There is good market for rifle bolts. Especially 22s, people use to hide bolt to
keep kids from getting gun. Many of these got misplaced or lost over time.
Gun shows and yard sales are full of bolt less 22s. Get pics up and most can
be identified.

You need a picture hosting site.
Bolts cannot just be swapped between rifles though. Even .22 bolts must be fitted for headspace.

Top one looks like a Weatherby bolt.

Next two, could they be from a Remington M788? That centerfire rifle has rear locking lugs.

Third one down looks like the bolt that came out of a Winchester M1300 Pump Shotgun.

The last bolt is an early Mauser. Can't see enough detail, but is could be an 1891 Mauser. The claw extractor came on later and I don't see a claw extractor.

one more question for the remington bolts. on has a 1/2 inch diameter recess ( i dont know the proper terminology , soorry. it is the recess the bullet sits in when you chamber the bullet) and the other is 3/8 th inch in diameter, whcih i am gues looks like a .22 caliber. any idea on how i can figure out the actual bullet tht fits these? i dont have calipers. the weatherby is 7/8 in diameter

My best guess,
Top
weatherby Mk V

middle
Remington 788 (both)

Agree with the short one being from a pump or semi auto shotgun, not sure which one

Bottom

Mauser, might be a 91, might be a 95 with the claw missing, from the angle, I can't say

No idea what the silver piece is.

Servicable? maybe, have to see what's left after the rust is cleaned off.

The bolt faces (the recess where the base of the cartridge case goes) are for the different "family" head sizes the guns were chambered in. The Weatherby is the "belted magnum" case head size.

The larger Rem bolt (the 1/2") is for the .308 Win case family (.473") the smaller "3/8" size is for the .223 size cases (.378").

Hope this helps

They all need some serious cleaning up. However, the M788 bolts are probably the most valuable of all the parts you have. I'd clean them up take some good pictures and put them on Gunbroker if you have no use for them. It's always amazing how many people have rifles missing a bolt.

Bolts

44 amp, is right. The Winchester shotgun bolt could be a 1200 , 1300 pump
or 1400 auto. They are all similar, can't tell from photo.

The first one is a Weatherby Mark V.

As far as the two Remington 788 bolts, sounds like one is standard bolt face (.470" for 22-250, 243, 308, 6mm Remington, etc), the other is small bolt face (.378" for 222, 223, etc)

The shotgun bolt is from a Winchester 1200/1300 shotgun

The Mauser bolt is from an 1891 Argentine Mauser. No claw extractor and collar eliminates 1893/95 Mausers.

The Claw!:):D:):D:)

Very true. Someone out there needs a bolt, needs it desperately, and you might be the good guy who has it for them. Parts for old out of production guns can be hard to find.
