Hello all!

I'm trying to determine what the make/model is of the following revolver:

Gun2.jpg

I'm currently waiting for the owner to get back to me with all the pertinent info on this potential purchase, but was hoping some of y'all could help.

S/N is 4441xx (last two digits photoshopped out of the pic)

Thanks!

Edited to add: Does this look like a Charter Arms to anyone?

charter arms....

well, i cant help you out too much from that pic, but i have a charter arms 'undercover' from the early 70's, and that emblem on the grips is identical to mine, so yes, it is definitely a charter arms snubbie. beyond that, i would have no idea where to look up serials to find exact date of manufacture and such, since i've tried to find that out on mine. Charter 2000 (the 'new' Charter arms) wouldn't/couldn't help me out on that. good luck. still missing 1 part for mine that i've been trying to get for 6 mo's with no luck...

".32 S&W (six shots) or .38 spl (five shots)"

From the flutes in the cylinder it's a 5 shot so it's in .38 spl.
It's a Charter Arms. Can't help you on the year of birth.

yes it is a Charter Arms for sure, look at the side of the barrel and you should see the company name on the right side and the model (Undercover) on the other. :)

Thank you gentlemen!

I have it in my hand now, and it is indeed an older Charter Arms 5-shot .38 Undercover.

It has some holster wear on the bluing, but I went through the revolver checkout here and everything checks out.

On full lockup, cyl is tight, and although I don't have a feeler, I had to have a STRONG light behind it to find the gap (I certianly wouldn't be able to fit a credit card in between). SA breaks like glass, but DA feels like it's 20# (I'm a 1911 guy, so ANY DA feels like it's 20#).

So does $75 sound like a good deal? :D

I'm pretty pleased, but now I'll end up spending more on leather, ammo, grips, and a speedloader than I spent on the gun.

Can anybody help me figure out the approximate age of this thing?

Thanks in advance!

hope you enjoy...

hope you enjoy your new purchase. sounds like a pretty nice deal to me. i love the look and feel of mine, too bad i cant shoot it .... anyway, I too would be interested in anyone's help in identifying date of manufacture on a charter arms 'undercover' 38 spl. any help is appreciated.
