I recently acquired a black powder rifle. Its a rifle/shotgun o/u combo gun. Only markings i found on the gun was "J.B. Wood Norwich no.107 N.Y. 1865" My research only found that JB Wood was a gun manufacture in the 1860's. If anyone could help me out i would greatly appreciate it.

Can get you more pictures if needed. Thanks again.

apparently from what I can tell, he practiced for at least 3 years, as I have found references to guns stamped 1865 and 1866 and business directories have listed JB WOOD in norwich NY under firearms in 1868. apparently he had no particular model number, he only serialized and dated every rifle he made. pictures of rifle 105 are of a single barreled 41 caliber rifle. on such a small time operator it will likely be difficult to find any information beyond what you probably already know.

Thanks for that info. Its more then I found. Thats what i figured but you guys are good at finding things so i though i'd ask. Thanks again for that.
