Looks like a Czech VZ52 to me, its a rifle designed at the end of WW2 very similar to the SKS. But chambered in a different caliber 7.62x45 I know that some were also made in the more standard 7.62x39, the 7.62x45 ammunition is rather scarce but its out there on the net

Bumilsurp.com has ammo for it.

But first check to see if it is a vzor(model) 57 it would be chambered in 7.62x39. Some were chambered in the round.

Beautiful rifle, I've been wanting one for years. What are the prices on these? When I see them at gunshows they go for all kinds of prices.

What it's worth

Now I'm not an expert but I'd say 300 plus if it has it's original wool stock in decent condition. 200 or under if it's coated in the truck bed liner the importer used to cover bad stocks. Its also worth what you want it for, you don't find many, I came across mine in a small town pawn shop collection dust in the corner for 300 I talked him down to 200

few of them were made in x39 and a lot were SLEEVED for x39, and those are dangerous. Had one in x45. not bad. local shop had ammo for $15/15

At gunshows I see them go for 500-700 range but couldn't really tell what they are WORTH. The 7.62x39 would go for the 700 range. How do they shoot compared to a SKS or Rasheed?
