Need Help Identifying a Rifle

My son-in-law recently acquired a .22 bolt-action rifle that we are trying to identify (sorry, no photo). Description:

The magazine is a removable box-type
The fore stock is grooved
The stock is recessed to receive the bolt knob when folded
The bolt knob is knurled and hollowed out
The rear sight is adjustable and the blade folds
The safety is a swinging Mauser-type
On top of the receiver, immediately in front of the sight, are the following (and only) markings:

UMC 2
1972
U-2851

Thanks all.

The stock is recessed to receive the bolt knob when folded
The stock folds? Or the recess is there for when the bolt is lowered? That might put a hiccup in the identifiables. Other than that, it sounds like a close relative to the Polish Cugir UMC1969 rifle. Google that and see if it's close.
