my grandpa used it for competitive shooting, .22 target rifle. i know he used it in the 1953 NRA nationals at camp perry, oh. i assume its a 1951 or so. it would be cool to know what year it is

the serial number is 83632C

thanks, zach

You know, on second thought from what I read years ago, I don't believe Winchester produced guns in precise order of serial number.

Please consult an expert, YMMV, etc. You could always call FN/Browning/Winchester and ask.

Winchester Model 52:
Covering numbers: 1 - 125451.

The year of manufacture for serial number 83632 is 1955.

this is what i got when i typed the serial number in that website. it makes no sence to me im pretty sure he had it befor then. i know my grandpa bought it around 1951-52, new or used i dont know.

i also have his model 70 .270 and i typed that serial number in also, 151911...it came back as a 1949. im pretty sure it is newer, because he bought it in california when they lived there in the early 60's...i supose it could have been used though. i think that dating thing is inacurate.
