Need help choosing a holster for PX4.

I really enjoy taking my Beretta PX4 to the range. When the fun is all over, cleaning it is a almost as enjoyable because it's so easy to strip. When I start looking for PX4 accessories, the fun ends. Here is my latest dilemma...

I am looking for a holster to use during a CC class. For now I was hoping to buy something off the shelf and then order custom later. It seems the preference of the four local schools I have spoken to is for an OTW model. That's fine, because I plan to get both IWB and OWB to see what I prefer.

At first I was going to order an inexpensive Fobus to get me by, but no one has them in stock for the PX4 because it is a new product and it is yet to be delivered from the manufacturer. Now I've been trying to find other holsters that might be in stock so I will have it in time for my course.

From all my reading/research, here are my preferences for an OWB holster...
  • Open top
  • FBI cant
  • Adjustable tension screw
  • Sweat shield between skin and gun
None of these fit my criteria completely, but the only products I've found that are available for immediate delivery are...
  • Galco F.L.E.T.C.H. (thumb break and no tension adjustment)
  • Blade-Tech Paddle or Sting Ray Belt (SRB)
  • Don Hume Double Nine (H721) Belt Holster (has thumb break and no tension adjustment)
  • Comp-Tac paddle holster or Settable Cant (paddle, belt or both)
I don't mind the paddle concept, and if I buy the Comp-Tac Settable Cant with the "Deluxe" option it can be worn on belt or as paddle. I do like the idea of leather. The Galco looks nice, but I'm not sure about the thumb break. With regard to the Don Hume, I'm not sure how molded it is to the PX4 or if this holster is more of a generic fit.

Does anyone have experience with one or all of the above choices that could give me some constructive feedback?

Thanks,
Fly

bigshooter,

I don't know how I missed that one, but it appears to meet most of my criteria. Do you have one of these yourself? I was wondering if it has a sweat shield between the body and the firearm.

Thanks,
Fly

i don't have one personally, but have heard lots of good things about them. you could do a search at the beretta site.

i am pretty sure it does have a sweat shield, you could call to confirm.

i also have a PX4 and will be odering the desanti for OWB, but i am undecided if i want a thumb break or not. they have one identical to the one in the link but it comes with a thumb break.

i'm getting this one for IWB
