Need hard chrome plating done

Just look in the phone book under "plating". BTW, it's expensive.

I was going to have the inside of a 1919 booster hard chromed, but they wanted $50-60 to do it. I found a new one already chromed for $80 at subguns.

Don't have the URL's for you on the tip of my fingers, but you can do a a web search for

Tripp Research
Accurate Plating and Weaponry
Techplate Engineering

The first two I've read good things about, not many folk have heard of the third

A keyword search "firearms coatings" or "firearms plating" will likely yeld many hits

I'll check for the web addresses of the ones I've mentioned and post them later.

Good luck

Romulus

A web search gives tons of results. But it only takes a few dollars to make a website. Just because they have a nice site, doesn't mean they are a good plater with reliable service. I'm looking for information from actual customers with good or bad experiances.

Thanks HW

I can vouch for Accurate Plating and Weaponry. I had a P14 done about 8 years ago that is FLAWLESS. It is equal to any plating I have ever seen. They were affiliated in some way with Cogan Custom who worked the P14 over before plating, again great work. I would send them another gun in a heartbeat. BTW, they were very reasonable on pricing too.

Like I said, the first two I mention come highly recommended...by whom, you might ask...by members of this forum and other forums, like www.1911forum.com

Virgil Tripp has a great rep, Accurate Plating and Weaponry also...but I would find some other websites, choose one that piques your interest and do a search on this forum for opinions and see what you come up with...that's what I did, just haven't used the services yet...all prices being equal, I think I'll go with Tripp Research based on the good word he gets

Good luck
