Need FAL info

I am looking at buying a DSA FAL. I know nothing about them and wondered what the difference is between the STG58A and the SA58. Quality wise is the STG58A as good as the SA58? Thanks for any info, Mike...

The SA58 is a brand new rifle, built in the US. Every piece is new, and either made by DSA or a subcontractor.

The STG-58 is a DSA receiver with original STG parts, from a real STG type FAL. Most likely it will have come from Belgium or Austria. There should be absolutely nothing wrong with those rifles. While it's a "parts gun," just about every other FAL in the US is a parts gun as well...they're just fine.

The only other real difference is that the SA58 has a lifetime warrantee.

I was under the impression that the STG-58A also had a lifetime warranty.

Other than that, he said it. AFAIK all of the 'parts' that are used to assemble the STG are new- the question is if they are made in the USA or were made a while ago in Austria. But since they're from the same blueprints, it should make zero difference.

Ok, maybe I'm wrong. I based the warranty info on what DSA had said origianlly when they came out with the rifles. My understanding is that only the receiver would be covered.

It doesn't matter, though.
