Need even more Mossberg stock advice?

For all of you that didn't read my earlier thread, I am looking to buy a stock for a Mossberg "persuader" that now only has a pistol grip. I did figure out that I have a model 500A. So here is my next question. The synthetic stock that I'm looking at on Ebay does not come with a stock bolt. Will my bolt from the pistol grip work, or will I need to purchase a new one? If I need to buy a new one, how much am I looking at having to spend, and where can I find one? Thanks in advance for your advice.

BobS, If I remember correctly , you need a long bolt for the full stock. The pistol grip bolt is way too short.I recall having tape the short allen bolt to the pistol grip so I wouldn't lose it when I put the full stock on. Skullboy.

Having just disassembled and reassembled the buttstock on my Mossberg 500A about a month ago, I can confirm that the bolt is longer than the bolt for the pistol grip (which also came with my gun but I never installed it). There are several gun parts web sites that should be able to provide the correct bolt.

I just purchased a new stock on ebay to replace the pistol
grip on my Mossberg 500, 20 ga.
I picked up the longer bolt at a hardware store. The bolt I needed
was 5/16x18x5.5".
