Hey fellow TFLer's,
Its been awhile since I have been on the site, been working alot. I know I know. Not an excuse. I am looking for a little project to keep me going while I am laid up.. Just something to tinker with. I crashed my ATV, broke my patella, and tore my ACL. It's going to be awhile. :-) Anyways, like I said. Looking for something, cheap and fun. I was thinking something along the lines of a Romanian Trainer.. Get it, Strip the stock, play around with the trigger and mags... After all they are only like 40 bucks. Whats to be said about these little guns? I often hear good things about them. Accuracy is supposed to be good, probably better than what I can show. I have heard of some problems mounting a scope. Anyone care to elaborate? Probably make a neat little squirell Gun. Maybe I'll buy 2, and camo one up, for a nifty little SSR, Thats Squirel Sniper Rifle. ;-) Wheres a good place to order one, or 2? I apprecieate the time. Thanks!

Any rifle under $50 could be a fun project gun. Personally, I would probably mess with some Moisen Nagants if I was going to make a project. You could have a pretty powerful and useful tool after, and an old one won't have an ATF paper trail.

My cheap project is a ruger 10-22. Picked it up used and have started triming away to try to come up with a light weight scoped easy to carry plinker. The stock has way more thickness than it needs and with the aluminum reciever I figured it could be a real featherweight. Haven't made up my mind about getting one of those composite barrels. Sorta takes it out of the cheap class.

any inexpensive MilSurp would make a great project!

Personally I would get a Yugo 24/47($69.00 at aim surplus) but Nagants and Turk Mausers would be a fun and inexpensive project to play with!
