I have a Remington 1100 20gauge 3" mag. I need a barrel that will allow 2 3/4 shells. anyone got one for sale? it's made in 1973 so I need a standard. new ones won't work. could drill out the port hole but trying to avoid that. I just shoot trap with my daughters. don't need anything competition. thx. JT

I don't know if they still do it, but Gander Mountain used to drill a second port and tap it so you could install a small Allen head screw and go back to what you had. Good idea. If you decide to shoot a lot of stout 2-3/4" loads with another 2-3/4" barrel, I would get a new standard action sleeve or keep a real close watch on your buffer.
Stand weight 20 gauge barrels carry a premium as you have no doubt discovered. A lot of target shooters still like the old standard weight 20 gauges.

remington 1100 Sell or drill.

I'm leaning towards selling it as apposed to drilling another hole but I'll give gander mtn. a call a see what they say. never thought of drilling a second hole that can be plugged. standard 2 3/4 barrels for these guns are very hard to find and when you do they're expensive. live and learn. I'm new to the shotgun world. what would be an inexpensive 20gauge that would be for just shooting trap with my daughters? any ideas. we've got 20 acres to shoot out the back yard. thx. JT

I have one with screw-in chokes, but not sure if it will work on your gun.

I bought it for a 20G Rem 1100 I have, the barrel fit, but was not correct, could not chamber a round. I can see a slight difference between this barrel and my original barrel.

If this one would work for you I would sell it to you, but I don't know exactly what year gun it was made for.
