Need an OWB holster for Browning Hi Power.

Hello all, new member here.

One of the reasons I joined is because I need help with this. I want to carry a Browning Hi Power and I'm running into problems.

I want a thumb break holster that isn't a high ride. I have found the Mitch Rosen Express Thumb Break for the Kahr P45 works really well for the HP but the muzzle and about 1.5" of the slide stick out the bottom.

So, is there a holster maker that makes forward canted, thumb break, full length holsters for the Hi Power?

Thanks!

Brother, I grapple with my wife on a daily basis! :p (Joking, I'm not even married).

I want a thumb break because sometimes I leave the house when it's chilly but by noon it's become too warm for the jacket.... Ditto for when I sit down at the restaurant. ;)

OMGosh, thank you so much! I've found this.... :D

I'm not a fan of the extra belt slot but they make it for the HP.

Though I know it's not specifically for the HP, have you tried the Galco Fletch for the 1911? If not, Eric Little [combat leather] offers 2 thumb break models. His stuff is excellent, but there's an 8 month wait [I believe].

FYI - nothing wrong with a thumb break. I think it's hilarious that people carry a weapon because they might need it, but don't want a thumb break because they know they won't get into a fight.

"...the slide stick out the bottom..." That isn't an issue.
Any 1911/A1 holster will fit a BHP. What's your budget?
Midway lists 'em from about $20.
Uncle Mike's Super Belt Slide Holsters or a Blackhawk Pancake are the least expensive, but decent quality.

Thanks for the suggestion guys! I want to contact Don Hume and see if the "metal reinforced" means at the snap or on the side.....I don't want the holster collapsing during the draw. My Kahr 45 thumb break from Mitch Rosen does that when I wear a gun belt but doesn't when I wear a normal belt*.

*I stopped wearing normal-thickness belts 4 years ago.

**Oops, looks like the metal reinforcement is at the snap only.

More good news!

I just got off the phone with Safariland and they make an ALS (Level 1 Retention) holster for the Browning Hi Power. I was pleasantly surprised.

Price is $49.50 or so, I think I'll have to risk that. It comes with some degree (10 degrees) of cant adjustment and some degree of height adjustment.

I wish they made it for the CW 45 but we can't have everything. *Honestly I figured there would be more holster options for the CW 45 but there isn't.
