Need Advice - Should I or shouldn't I?

I went into my usuall hangout yesterday (the gunshop) and they had an almost new Colt Python in bright stainless for $695. If I buy it, it will ruin my plans to get the new Kimber Pro CDP that I wanted to become my primary CCW piece. I know that Colt is not "planning" to make any more Pythons, so is this a deal that I shouldn't pass up? Please let me know what you think.

Well, if you already have a suitable CCW weapon, I would get the Python. The price of a Python in good condition will just continue to rise, so get one while you can. That's my opinion.

I get the Python, skip the Kimber, and by a Para... for ccw

Halffast--go get that Python!

I had a chance to buy a bright stainless Python for $495 when they were first produced about, what, 10 or 15 years ago, flubbed it, and have been kicking myself ever since. Don't make the same mistake I did!

IMHO a Kimber is a lower priority than a fine Python in excellent condition.

See if you can get them down to $650.
After all, it's a discontinued model.

If they bite, slowly exit the establishment
and wait until you're outside to engage
that broad smile.

The others are correct. A Python is a
thing of beauty. You'll NEVER regret own-
ing one

I'd go for the Python

Even though I despise Colt, Buy the Python, In my opinion I think it is one of the best double-action revolvers ever made.

Depends on when the Python was made...the later ones were not up the quality of the earlier ones. But if you want it as an investment it is sure to go up in value. But don't hesitate to buy the Kimber CDP, from what I hear they are excellent guns.

Go for the Python. As far as a value increase goes, I hope everyone is right. I recently purchased (right before Colt announced their discontinuance agenda) a Colt Python Hunter set for $1,050. It is unfired and I intend to keep it that way. This set, which was only produced in 1981, contains a 8" blued Python wearing a Leupold 2x scope that has both the Leupold name and the Colt logo. It came with 2 grips, a cleaning kit and an ammo box all marked with the Colt logo. Th whole deal came housed in a Zero Haliburton aluminum case with integral combination lock.
I still wonder if my deal was as good as I like to think it was. Sincerely, Twoinchgroup52.

Thanks for all the advice. You will be happy to know that I took it. A 4" Bright Stainless Python with original Colt rubber grips has a new home. The proud adoptive parent (ME
