Need advice re 9mm Star jamming

I've been trying a variety of cures for the fact that my 9mm Star, Mod. B, jams anytime I load more than 5 rounds in the 8 rd. magazine. I started out with an original star mag -- probably 40+ years old. It jammed every time I put more than 5 rounds in. So I assumed it was simply an old spring.

The solution: buy 3 new 8 rd. mags from Interarms. Result -- ditto, all three new mags jam with anything over 5 rds. I have fed both ball and hollow point thru. Both feed five rounds pretty reliably. After that, jam.

I have also put a new Wolff spring in the receiver. No discernible change, before or after that.

Any suggestions of where I might attack this next? Thanks.

If the pistol is as old as the original mag, circa 40 years, it may simply need throating done. My first STAR MB was purchased in the early '70s and did the same thing until I had the ramp throated by a competent smith. I purchased a second one a few years ago and it came throated and works flawlessly. If that's not the problem, check the magazines. Do they hold the top round such that it's pointed somewhat downward? If so, carefully spreading the feed lips might help. That's all I can think of without seeing the pistol.
Best.

Sorry for coming in so late.

Was it a feed jam or extraction jam? Double feed? Please describe more fully.
