need advice on fix for Browning Gold

My buddy has a Browning Gold he uses for duck and goose hunting up here in northern Indiana. The gun has been back to Browning twice and has not been fixed.
The problem is only experienced in the cold, with 3 1/2 '' shells. The gun won't feed consistantly.
We've made sure the port is clear/clean and we've run the gun dry and with light oil.

Would a stiffer main spring be a good thing to try?

Any help would be greatly appreciated ! ! !

Thanks, Glenn

Clean the trigger group out with gunscrubber, totally clean and DRY. Make sure the bolt rails in the reciever are WET with oil, I use Mobil 1 15w-50 down to -15*F. The contact points between the bolt and bolt carrier also need to be oiled, I use the Mobil on these points also.

That Gold should have a plenty strong mainspring in it already. Make sure the mainspring is CLEAN and DRY. Also make sure the mainspring plunger is clean and DRY.

Make sure the gas piston and the mag tube are also clean and DRY.

Edit to add: I think the light oil is probably the problem. If you use something like Rem Oil you can forget about it working. You need a thicker oil, one that will actually suspend the bolt and carrier on a film. I have a couple Golds and this is true on all of them, none of them will run with dry bolt and rails either.
