i was looking at the Bushnell Bone Collector Scopes the gun shop has for $130. does anyone have exp with these scopes or think i should get something else? ima be shooting the biggest slugs i can get in a 3 inch shell :)

Dont get it, I have one and they completly suck. They have a horrible light transmission so its tough to see at dusk/dawn, they fog up very easily and once they fog up they are impossible to clean, they will however take the blow from your gun. That said get a Nikon Slughunter, best slug scope that has ever been made. Yes they cost a little more but they are awsome, if you want to stay closer to 130 dollars get a Nikon Prostaff Slug Series they are 150 and are still very good for the price, I have a Bushnell on one gun and a Prostaff on another and recently just got a Slughunter on my T/C 20 ga and its by far the best optic and im sure many others will say the same

Leupold Ultimate Slam. I have them on my shotgun and my muzzleloader. You would be good to NOT shoot 3" shells. You get no added benefit and you kill yourself with recoil for what? an extra 50fps?
I shot the Hornady 2.75" 300gr SST sabots this year and they were unbelievable in my gun.

Yes that is the one im talking about and that is a great deal. Get it now because they are 290 at my shop. The BDC ones are nice to and matched with the ammo on their spot on software works great. No guess work like the other makes of BDC style scopes. Just plug in the ammo, scope and zero distance and it tells you the exact use for each dot. Mines within 1 inch to 200 of the zero mark

Ive used a Leupold M8 fixed 4X with heavy duplex for years. Their fixed powers are rugged simple scopes.

The Nikon Slughunter is a nice scope for the $.

If your going to stay with the smooth bore, don't think I'd pay the extra for the BDC model. You probably won't be shooting the distance to make the BDC MODEL practical . If you're going to change to a rifled bbl. shooting sabots or hunting with an inline BP rifle later on, then you may want the BDC.
