May 13 Neal Knox Report -- At 10:30 a.m. Thursday, the Second
Amendment was repealed.
Since that time, not one licensed dealer has sold a single firearm.
In California, which requires all private transfers to go
through a dealer, not a gun has been legally sold, traded or
exchanged.
The stated reason is a software glitch in the FBI National
Instant Check System -- a system that has been online and
functioning for 18 months.
According to notices sent to Virginia dealers this morning,
the system will be up and running at 9 a.m. tomorrow, which
coincides with the beginning of the Million Mom March and the
Second Amendment Sisters countermarch.
Yesterday, the same dealers said the system would be working
this morning.
When NRA foolishly drafted the "Instant Check" law in 1988, they provided
that if the computer system was down, sales could be completed.
The final law allows dealers to go ahead with the sale after three days,
but BATF has warned dealers not to sell -- and because of liability
worries, most will not.
We are getting a good look at our future -- unless we react.
I hope to see you at tomorrow's Armed Informed Mothers
Counter-march -- while we still have the First Amendment Freedom of
Assembly, and the Freedom to Petition the Congress for Grievances.
-----------------
There are signs that the public is beginning to catch on to
what the Million Mom March is all about -- pure politics.
Organizer Donna Dees-Thomases said Friday that her group would
transform itself into an overt political organization after
tomorrow's rally, endorsing candidates and campaigning against
pro-Second Amendment incumbents.
"Right now, we're trying to be non-partisan, but it's very
hard," she said in a press release.
