For those that may be interested, Libertarian radio talk show host Neal
Boortz will debate Atlanta Journal/Const. editorialist Cynthia Tucker on the
topic of gun control at 7:30 p.m. eastern time tonight. You can listen to
the debate live by going to www.boortz.com and clicking the "Listen to
Boortz here" link. You'll need Real Audio, of course.

The broadcast will last for one and one-half hours.

Listened to it on the radio here in Atlanta. Good debate. What I really liked was during the question-and-answer phase after the debate. The last question Boortz took went something like this, paraphrased, of course:

"Hello, my name is such-and-such. I am a student of such-and-such here at GSU. In all of my 30 years, I have never owned or even held a gun. I will not allow guns in my home and my children are not allowed around guns. Mr Boortz are you telling me that I should go out and get a gun?"

His response:
"Absolutely not. If you are not comfortable around firearms, then you should not own one. I would never advocate such a thing for someone who does not want one. You may not realize it, but you reap a benefit from others owning guns and having them in their homes. When a criminal walks down a street, looking for a home to rob, he does not know who does and who does not have guns in their home. Now let me ask you a question. Would you be willing to put up a sign in front of your home that says 'This is a gun-free household?' "

There was a slight pause, and then she said "No", but it was difficult to hear because of the burst of applause that came from the audience. Love it, love it, love it! :D

Sounds like I missed an interesting program

It was a good debate, but way too short in time. Ms Tucker's premise was 'guns and owners should be registered like autos and drivers'.

Last I heard, we have about 50,000 deaths on the highways a year. I failed to see how revenue enhancement via licensing drivers and cars has resulted in a savings of lives?
Neal did a great job though!
